Notifications & Slack

mngd has four channel-post events admins care about — app updates, macOS releases, offline endpoints, and the fleet digest — plus two user-facing DM streams (per-device summaries and silent-install transparency). Everything ships through the same Slack workspace install; this section covers how to point each stream at the right channel and how to make the wording yours.

  • Connect Slack — install the mngd Slack app and pick the default channel.
  • Channel routing — send each event type to a different channel.
  • Customize wording — override the header and intro line per event with variable substitution.
  • Per-device DM layouts — tune what shows up in users’ personal DMs (sections, interactivity, group overrides).
  • Pause & silence — temporarily mute alerts org-wide or let users silence transparency DMs.
